your ASSIGNMENT** is :
create ONE sports page (look at our previous yearbooks or your old school's yearbooks for inspiration):
there should be:
-photos
-take SEVEN SPORTS photos from flickr (choose any seven you want)
-text (main, captions, coaches, captains, whatever else you feel is necessary)
- you don't have to actually write the blocks of text or the captions,
but leave room for them by typing in text text text text... in that space
- use the fonts and the colors we gave you
- YES, look at other yearbooks for inspiration, but MAKE YOUR PAGE DIFFERENT.
make a different look & a different design for the page than ones you've seen before.
this is your chance to show us how CREATIVE you are as designers :)

ALSO, this is not something we can really check, but PLAY WITH INDESIGN OVER THE SUMMER.
when school starts, we want to jump into making the yearbook without having to spent too much time teaching you guys how to use inDesign.
SO, in order to do that, you have to PRACTICE using it yourselves :)
there's no specific assignment to check whether or not you did this, but WE'LL KNOW ;)
so please play around with inDesign and become familiar with all of its cool functions & tools!
know how to work with:
- rulers
- text boxes
- photo boxes
- fitting photos to frame, vice versa
- opacity of colors
- direction of words, pictures
- margins
- page sizes
